The Making of Conversations We Never Had

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day 2022, Shades of Green proudly announced their debut album, Conversations We Never Had, available on all major streaming services as well as good old compact disc.

This album was began many years ago (it has been nearly 50 years since much of the poetry that became the songs’ lyrics were written) but things started to come together duing the pandemic that began in 2020.

Much of the early planning for the music took place at a distance, with Scot, Pat (and later Jim and Eric) exchanging audio and video files that contained song ideas and snippets of music. As the songs began to mature, Jim put together video “demos” of the songs which the band released on YouTube. Some of the songs are very much like the final versions that appear on the album Conversations We Never Had, while others continued to change and evolve right up to our recording sessions (and even then!).
