What better way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day Month than a visit to Hometown Heroes and our good frind, host Mark Rogers. “Hometown Heroes’ official St. Paddy’s band” he called us, and we’re honored!
Scot, Jim, and Pat made the trek to WDDE, and were joined by Coleen Colon, who has provided vocals for a number of our songs, past and present. Eric, regrettably, wasn’t able to attend but will be on-hand for all of the full-band events of St. Patrick’s Day Week (including our first appearance at Jamey’s House of Music on March 20th!)
If you missed the broadcast, there is a rebroadcast tonight at 9PM, again on DelawarePublic.org (look for the “play” button in the banner). There are additional rebroadcasts on Thursday at 3PM on WCHE (The Talk of Chester County) and again on Saturday at 8PM.
During our visit Mark played two of our new releases, “I’m Drunk (Yo-Ho!)” and “Quiet Moments“. Additinally, we brought our instruments and played live two others: the yet-unreleased Ballad of Paddy O’Shea and The Fields of Athenry.
As if that wasn’t enough, this occasion marked the radio debuts of “Release Me” by Mindstorm, a jazz project of Scot and Eric’s, and the song “The Good Fight“, a solo project of Jim’s, featuring Coleen on supporting vocals.
Shades of Green would like to thank Mark and the Hometown Heroes staff for the warm welcome and fun evening, and we greatly appreciate their unflagging support of local music.
